Hangar Gurus, Inc. ("we", "us") operates this site to connect pilots, brokers, FBOs, and property owners. This policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the site you accept this policy.
1. Information we collect
- Account info — your name, email, phone number, and any optional profile fields you provide (home airport, primary aircraft, regions of interest, user type).
- Listings & content — anything you publish, including addresses, descriptions, photos, and pin coordinates.
- Usage data — pages viewed, search queries, listings saved, and interactions with emails. We use first-party analytics only; no third-party ad pixels.
- Device data — browser type, IP address, and approximate location derived from the IP, used for security and fraud prevention.
2. How we use information
- To run the marketplace: showing you listings, alerts, and partner directory entries.
- To send transactional and account-related email and SMS (sign-in codes, listing approvals, alerts you've opted into, replies to inquiries).
- To send marketing email if you've opted in. You can opt out anywhere — your account profile, the unsubscribe link in any campaign email, or by contacting us.
- To verify listings against FAA airport data and prevent fraud.
3. Sharing
We don't sell personal data. We share narrow slices with:
- Buyers and sellers you contact. When you reach out about a listing, the listing owner sees your name and contact info.
- Service providers under contract. Hosting, email delivery, error monitoring, mapping, and payment processing — each used only for the purpose described.
- Legal compliance. When required by law or to protect users, the platform, or third parties.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
We use first-party cookies for sign-in sessions and remembering your last sign-in method. No advertising cookies. No third-party tracking pixels.
5. Your choices
- Edit or delete your profile at any time from your account page.
- Pause or remove listing alerts from
/account/alerts. - Opt out of marketing email via the unsubscribe link in any campaign or by toggling Email me listing alerts and announcements on your profile.
- Request account deletion by contacting support.
6. Data retention
We keep account data while your account is active. Inactive accounts may be deleted after 24 months. Listings remain visible while their status is active and are archived (not deleted) when sold or taken down. Email send logs are retained 18 months for deliverability diagnostics.
7. Children
The service is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
8. Changes
We'll post changes here and notify active users by email if changes materially affect rights. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
